Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC
Company’s background and contribution to STEM field.
Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC (“MBV”) is a plant in North Charleston, South Carolina that assembles Sprinter vans for the U.S. market under the brands Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner. The midsize Metris van was added to the assembly line in 2015. In July 2016, MBV officially broke ground on the site of its new plant, located next to existing operations in the North Charleston area. The MBV facility will provide up to 1,300 jobs by the end of the decade. Education, specifically STEM education, is an important part of MBV’s community engagement strategy. This engagement can be seen through our current partnerships with Charleston Engineers Joint Council to promote STEM education in the Lowcountry. Additionally, our partnership with Charleston Promise Neighborhood’s Family Science Night focus on promoting STEM education with students in Charleston’s “neck” region. As a Career Concourse exhibitor, MBV is excited to highlight STEM careers that are critical to our future.
